Like the Young Sprout Unfolding touched by the First Dew drop in Spring, and growing into a huge tree, Ankur started from a small initiative, and has grown into a huge community bringing the Bengalis' of Sacramento and Northern California under it's shade.

However, we are not here to rest. We tirelessly engage in social, cultural, developmental, and fun activities throughout the year. We are today the Flag-Bearer of Bengali Community from "Epar and Opar" Bangla, recognized by the local city administration, and a registered Non-Profit, under section A 501(c), with tax advantage.

• Organizing cultural programs with both adults and the children for our festivals. This includes our celebrations of Saraswati Puja in Spring and Durga Puja in Fall.
• Doing social service, especially for the underserved minority population within Sacramento County.
• Helping people at home (USA) and abroad (India), in times of need through fund-raising and other charitable activities.
• Conducting various other social events such as (festival of colors), Bengali New Year, Picnic etc.
• Providing a forum for exchanging ideas and views with various non-profit organizations of similar interests.
